Tibet Update: China Slips, Reporters See The Real Tibet

For some reason China arranged for a group of Western Jouranlists to tour Tibet to show them how calm everything was ... operative word "was". As soon as monks saw the journalists they cried out for help.

"The outburst by about 30 monks came as the journalists, including an Associated Press reporter, were being shown around the sacred Jokhang Temple by government handlers in Lhasa. "Tibet is not free! Tibet is not free!" yelled one young Buddhist monk, who then started crying"

The President has indeed gotten involved:

"President Bush called China's President Hu Jintao on Wednesday and raised concerns about the crackdown in Tibet. Bush encouraged Hu to engage in "substantive dialogue" with representatives of the Dalai Lama, the White House said. The president also called on China to allow access for journalists and diplomats in Tibet."

The AP says the one lingering question is, that China fails to answer, what led up to the riots? Also what caused these otherwise peacefull people to break loose?
