Muslim School Paid by Tax Dollars

Katherine Kersten from the StarTribune wrote a piece on the the Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy (TIZA), a K-8 charter school funded by taxpayer dollars. Here's the link to the current update and there's links included to the other article with in. You really have to read this to believe it.

A local tv station broke the fact that for the past 5 years this "school" did not fly the American Flag as required by being a charter school. When asked, the principal said it was because he did not know how to use the flag pole. I'm not making this up. Since the confrontation by the local tv station, they have started to fly the American Flag.

It's 8:52 am and I'm still bitter and angry. (Oh and clinging to my Bible)

Check back later to see if Obama's right. I intend to check my bitter reading every few hours.

Update: Powerline has an update on the situation ... some lines from an old Michelle Obama, bless her heart, speech.

I Rest My Case (Part 2)

Earlier I said that liberal America actually does not see anything wrong with what Obama said about small town America ... oh one more time:

So it's not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

Via Hot Air ... I rest my case.

Obama Family 5- America 0

I have tried to keep score here, so if I missed one of the Obama family's insults to white America just check out this article by Andy McCarthy.

Let's see now, Obama has called those who make racist comments (including his granddma), the  "typical white people", and considers a pregnancy a "punishment". His wife, bless her heart, thinks America is a mean and nasty place, and a place she has never been proud of until Barry ran for President. And after attending a church for 20 years that preached white America is the US of KKK, its no wonder Barry and his wife think white middle Americans are just a bunch of gun toten, bible tumpin, Mexican fearin, unedgicated, "po" white trash, as in "forgive them Karl, they know not what they do." And he calls us bigots. Oh brother.

How much do we all need to hear before we get a pretty good picture of what Barry thinks of America. I rest my case ... well until Barry spews forth some other bigoted comment.

Obama's cynical (marxist?) view of middle class America

This morning Obama is desperately trying to spin away from comments he made about middle class white people a couple days ago ... but Powerline says it won't work. It's already out there.

And in case you missed what this neo-marxist elitist candidate had to say, one more time:
"So it's not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

Strange but true ... a lot of liberals in this country don't see what's wrong with this statement, so for them I will explain. We "cling" to our religion out of faith. WE know who the real hope and truth is. We know "The Way", and it is not you. We are not anti immigrant, just anti illegal immigrant and believe a government should protect its borders. We don't cling to guns, we believe in the second amendment.

Marx told his followers that religion is the opiate of the people.  Those of us who follow a deep abiding faith are just frustrated, typical, angry white people. Not to mention in the socially elitist world that Obama and his other intellectuals live, we're all bigots.

This is the socialist, intellectual, urban elites view of the rest of America. This is what they say to each other at their fund raisers and cocktail parties. "Poor white trash."

Obama is the racist, not us, and clearly the bigot, not us, and this calls for an apology. Something this guy has never done for anything, because he's not sorry, HE believes it.

Keep your Messiah. I'd vote for one of the anyone ever, but this guy.

Iraq News

Michael Yon, former Army Special Forces, (which has come in handy on occassion if you read his blog) turned "boots on the ground" journalist, has this op ed in the Wall Street Journal. Trust me, he knows his stuff more than anyone other than the General. (via HotAir).

I may well have spent more time embedded with combat units in Iraq than any other journalist alive. I have seen this war – and our part in it – at its brutal worst. And I say the transformation over the last 14 months is little short of miraculous.

Then, thumbing through my NY Times this morning here's an article that kinda jumped out at me.

The struggle for control of Sadr City is more than a test of wills with renegade Shiite militias. It has also become a testing ground for the Iraqi military, which has been thrust into the lead.

Obama's Friends

Andrew McCarthy has done a good job of connecting a series of seemingly random comments and events in the political life of Barack Obama. What he uncoveres is a disturbing trend. Not guilt by association, rather a penchant for people who just find America a mean and nasty place.

Don't Act Like Democrats

Thomas Sowell has an interesting column on how Republicans can win more vote from Black America. Don't try to out "gift" the Democrats. They do it better and have been doing it longer, says Sowell. Instead try telling the truth.

There is plenty to talk straight about, including all the things that the Democrats are committed to that work to the disadvantage of blacks, beginning with Democrats' adamant support of teachers' unions in their opposition to parental choice through vouchers.

Romney still in the political hunt

I think the VP spot is still up for grabs, but Mr Romney is a good possibility. Read about all the money he's rallying for the Senator here. That to me sends a message that Mitt's in the front running.

The Torch and Tibet

It's hard to fathom as Americans just how hard it is to be a Tibetan in Tibet. Religious freedom is not tolerated despite what you might read. Monks and temples sanctioned by the Chinese and working with the Chinese are tolerated, but for the most part practicing Tibetan Buddhists are persecuted, jailed and yes, sometimes killed. Economically they are relegated to second class citizen status and their homeland has been taken over by Chinese who have been shipped into the province by the train load. The Dalai Lama is seen as an enemy of the state.

China rules Tibetans with an iron fist. Ask anyone who has run up against the security guards in blue. Maybe under the circumstances then you can understand why they are taking this opportunity to inform the world.

I almost never agree with James Carville but on this I do.

I also agree with John McCain.

Columbia Trade

Hard to figure what the Democrats could be thinking in sabotaging the Columbia trade deal. It lowers tariffs on American goods like fertilizers, tractors and other farm equipment. Plus Columbia is in the fight of its life to keep the Marxists out and democracy in ... but that may very well be the problem. Gateway Pundit has a nice rundown

As far as the Democrats are concerned the wrong party is in control of Columbia

Pelosi: Wouldn't meet with Vets for Freedom.

VETS SHARING 'GROUND TRUTH'
GROUP VISITS NEW YORK CITY TODAY

Article by Pete Hegseth........here's a peak
This "ground truth" she so adamantly seeks, where should it come from? Certainly not from Petraeus, who she accuses of "glorifying" things. And not the 45 Iraq War veterans from Vets for Freedom's California chapter - whom she refused to meet with yesterday in Washington.
Instead, she'll continue to draw on the latest Move- On.org political talking points - which haven't been updated since 2006.

Another Obama Misstatement?

The WaPo gave the Messiah two Pinocchios for his lying about McCain's 100 year quote which we have documented extensively here ... and here.

Well the light, truth and ther way ... not so truthful again.

The Washington Post's Fact Checker, the esteemed Michael Dobbs, has given Mr. Obama two Pinnochios for the campaign's attempt to claim this was not a pledge to enter into the public financing system. "Obama's affirmative answer to the Midwest Democracy Network seems unequivocal," Dobbs writes. "Now that Obama is raising $1 million a day, his enthusiasm for public financing appears to have waned."

On Jay Rockefeller And The Democrats Hatred of All Things Military

By now I am sure you have heard about Senator Rockefeller's statement to a West Virginia Newspaper ... “McCain was a fighter pilot, who dropped laser-guided missiles from 35,000 feet. He was long gone when they hit. What happened when they [the missiles] get to the ground? He doesn’t know. You have to care about the lives of people. McCain never gets into those issues.”

Rather than rehash the entire episode I thought I might just point you to a post by Ed Morrisey that I think says it all.  Does this not actually reflect what most Democrats think of military service. Whether it's Dick Durbin's soliders remind him of Nazis, or John Kerry's soldiers terrorizing women and children at night, or Murtha's marines killed in cold blood or Obama's air raiding villages.

Obama and the Hearings

The clip that each of the networks is playing tonight is the one where Obama poses a hypothetical to Ambassador Crocker. The media has portrayed it as a brilliant strategic question. I disagree. What you don't hear in the news clips is the beginning of the question.

Obama asks the Ambassador if we could maintain the current status with either a complete withdrawal or drawdown to 30,00o, would that be acceptable. The Democrats I figure, were hoping he would answer with a hypothetical, yes. The Ambassador responds by saying that it would be impossible to maintain the current status with that kind of drawdown.

Then an interesting exchange takes place when Biden interrupts and says, "Ambassador that's not the question", immediately parroted by Obama (as he often does, re: debates) "That's not the question". Clearly, Crocker was answering the question it just wasn't the answer the Democrats were looking for.

I've included the entire exchange below. My guess is others noticed too.

As I said I think the Democrats, through Obama, had hoped Crocker would answer the hypothetical question with a hypothetical, it's just Crocker wouldn't take the bait. He never wavered. Victory he explained was when the Iraqis could defend themselves and we were not there yet.  Crocker 1 Democrats 0

Levin Says Surge Has Failed

"The four-star general in charge of Iraq wants more time in a war that is now in its sixth year. Democrats say he's got until the November elections."

The hearings have started and General Petraeus learned that he is losing in Iraq. This was something that no doubt surprised the General as he was about to testify to the progress and success of the surge. But Carl Levin openned up the testimony and proceeded to tell the General he must be mistaken because the Democrats were sure he was losing. Read more here.

Al_Sadr Losing - Media Wrong

For the last thirty minutes of yesterday's show, we attempted to explain why the main stream media was perhaps a little premature in declaring Al Sadr a victor in Basra and Sadr City. As it turns out, he may lose both. Already Iarq has taken control of Bosra and the port ... and is pressing forward in Sadr city ... Now we learn the million man march is off. Not looking good for the "Powerful" Sadr Army.

The Bosra Story Untold

Powerline has a series of great posts on the real story of the Bosra offensive ... proof once again that the main stream media are too quick to decalre defeat. As opposed to a crushing defeat foir the Iraqi army ... turns out ... its become a galvanizing moment ... and by the way ... the fight continues. Read it here, and here.

And make sure you read Jack Kelly's column here.
Here's a snippet:

"It is rare in the annals of war for the side which is winning to seek a cease fire. And though Mr. al Sadr has said he wants one, Mr. Maliki hasn't said he'll grant one. "Security operations in Basra will continue," he said Monday. "

All of this seems to be backed by this report this morning

"Iraq's major Shiite, Sunni and Kurdish parties have closed ranks to force anti-American cleric Muqtada al-Sadr to disband his Mahdi Army militia or leave politics, lawmakers and officials involved in the effort said Sunday. "

Ohio's lethal injection rules questioned

Sorry guys, you're not getting my sympathy on this one. Maybe we should ask people like POW's from Vietnam just what cruel and unusual punishment is because to me, this is splitting hairs. To receive the death penalty in this country, you had to do something pretty darn awful. Probably something that truly defines the term cruel and unusual. So sorry, a proven medical procedure to end your life in the gentlest way, I think you should be thankful for. Because I'm sure the victim and/or the victim's families could think of a few other ways to carry out the sentence. Read article here.
