Obamaisms

Some people talk straight ... others stretch the truth. By now Hillary's Bosnia expedition has been well documented but what of this man Obama?

First, he has been nabbed by Fact Check for the way he has used the famous "100 years of war" line to attack John McCain. Here's our post on this complete with video.

Now the Columbia Jouranlism Review has criticized him for the same thing.

Today, for instance, he said: “We can’t afford to stay in Iraq, like John McCain said, for another hundred years.” It’s technically true that McCain said that, but Obama’s clear goal in phrasing it that way was to imply, falsely, that McCain wants the war to continue for that long. In other words, he’s gone from lying about what McCain said to being deeply misleading about it. Progress, of a kind.

Now today nabbed on another Obamaism by Fact Check:

In a new ad, Obama says, "I don’t take money from oil companies."Technically, that's true, since a law that has been on the books for more than a century prohibits corporations from giving money directly to any federal candidate. But that doesn’t distinguish Obama from his rivals in the race.We find the statement misleading:Obama has accepted more than $213,000 from individuals who work for companies in the oil and gas industry and their spouses. Two of Obama's bundlers are top executives at oil companies and are listed on his Web site as raising between $50,000 and $100,000 for the presidential hopeful.

A new kinda politician, straight talk, above the frey, the light, the truth, the way.
